2011 USA Open & Junior Olympics Karate Championships
2011 Ozawa Cup International Karate Tournament

April 2011 ~ Las Vegas, NV

We had 10 competitors
We took 14 medals total ! (not including participation medals)
1 Gold    6 Silver    7 Bronze    3 non-medal 4th place

Over 1100 competitors from 53 different countries and almost all over the US participated in the USA Open and Junior Olympics. Another 800 competitors participated in the Ozawa Cup.

We had 10 competitors in the Junior Olympics
They took 8 medals total !
1 Gold   3 Silver   4 Bronze

We had 3 competitors in the USA Open
They took 3 medals total !
1 Silver   2 Bronze  
(and 2 fourth places in the advanced category)

We had 4 competitors in the Ozawa Cup
They took 3 medals total !

At IMA-International Budokan we teach traditional Japanese, traditional Shotokan based on the philosophies of the founder of Shotokan karate-do, Gichin Funakoshi. Our students learn in a safe and fun environment, and are taught traditional karate with the use of basics (kihon), forms (kata), and sparring (kumite), and achieve great success in local, national, and international karate tournaments and karate competitions.

Karate classes and competition training are offered at dojos throughout the Salt Lake Valley in Utah, serving: Parleys Canyon, Glendale, The Avenues, Cottonwood, Cottonwood West, Downtown Salt Lake, Murray, Holladay, West Valley, Salt Lake Valley, Sugar House (Sugarhouse), Millcreek, East Millcreek, Canyon Rim, Cottonwood Heights, Mt.
