MA-International Budokan Shotokan Karate was founded in 2001 by Shihan Amadou Niang. Shihan Niang's vision was to bring traditional karate to everyone by offering classes at local recreation centers.

We take great pride in being the first IMA-affiliate dojo in Utah. Our students not only train in traditional Shotokan, but also achieve great success in local, national, and international karate tournaments.

At IMA-International Budokan we teach traditional Shotokan based on the philosophies of the founder of Shotokan karate-do, Gichin Funakoshi. Our students learn in a safe and fun environment, and are taught traditional karate with the use of basics (kihon), forms (kata), and sparring (kumite). They participate in local, national, and international competitions.
